About this year’s edition

Welcome to the 2026 edition of the Linux Kernel Summer School! This year’s edition is based around a series of hands-on exercises and courses, meant to help the students get acquainted with the Linux kernel development. The topics disussed in this edition are listed in Schedule.

Hardware

This edition is based on the FRDM-IMX93 and LKSS-DAUGHTER-BOARD boards.

Getting started

Make sure you have a working development environment (see Infrastructure) and a FRDM-IMX93 board [1].

You’re not required to have an accessory board to be able to solve the laboratory exercises. What you can do instead is replicate the connections shown in the accessory board’s schematic using a breadboard and jumper wires.
